Lessons Learned from a Puppy

Now i love my puppy (yes, we decided on Abigail), but there are a few things I have learned...

  1. You will never have a pair of pants without holes in it again
  2. Put your clothes in the hamper - or get used to your dog parading your underwear around like it's her top prize... and in front of company.
  3. You're going to look like a drug addict from the dog chewing your arms up.
  4. There is nothing like watching your puppy latch on to a golden retriever's tail and shaking it back and forth.
  5. Curiosity killed the cat (err... puppy). Do NOT let your puppy go near a cat that just had kittens - the cat will win every time.
  6. Kiss sleeping in goodbye. Abbie wakes up EVERY morning at 5:45 AM... just get an older dog that sleeps past 10 with you. Man I miss Dixie!
  7. I hope you didn't like your coffee table...
  8. Puppies also see the fun in TPing a house - except it's YOUR house... not as fun as it was in college...
  9. My puppy likes beer. Go figure.
  10. If you throw a puppy into a pond, she'll swim back to you (for reasons unknown). If you do it again, she'll run away from you for an hour.

We are such SUCKERS

Definitely went to the pound at lunch and brought home a little critter...

Still don't know what to name her, but I'm inclined to call her Piggy... or Maggie, or Ellie, or Lily...

Man puppies have a set of lungs on them. She made it through most of the night, and only cried for a little bit around 3am. Then again at 5:30 so we just woke up... still really sweet though :-)

Countdown to Vacation!

Last week, I booked my two week vacation in August! Yeah! I'm so excited about the itinerary!

BWI to Oslo
Oslo to Stavanger
Stavanger to Trondheim
Trondheim to Oppdal
Oppdal back to Oslo
Oslo to Budapest
Budapest back to Oslo
Oslo back to BWI

In Stavanger, I'll visit Lise (Marte's sister, who came to visit my family when Marte lived with us) - and we'll hike to Pulpit Rock (google it!)

I'll finally get to meet Marte's parents in Trondheim, and hopefully go sailing with them!

Then on to Oppdal, i'll get to see Martin (Marte's boyfriend)... and we'll go mountain hiking or something outdoorsy i'm sure...

Martin and I will then fly on to Budapest together to go see Marte after she finishes her LAST exams!

Then back to Oslo for me, where i will stay with Martin's sister, Martha (are you noticing a trend in Norwegian names yet?), and tour the capital city for a couple days before flying back to BWI... sad... then have to get back...

So who can really work when such a fabulous trip is coming up in a couple of months?!?!?!
